Sheriff’s Office unveils its 10 Most Wanted list

WHITESTOWN — The Oneida County Sheriff’s Office has released their list of the 10 Most Wanted fugitives for 2021.

Among the 10, one is already in custody, one is a Rome woman accused of attacking a neighbor with bolt cutters and one has been on the Most Wanted List three times.

“We are reaching out to the community for your assistance,” said Oneida County Sheriff Robert M. Maciol when he announced the list on Thursday. The sheriff said the annual list is comprised of 10 individuals wanted by his warrants unit. He said these people may not have shown up for an appointed court date, may have skipped out on a sentencing or any number of other reasons for why they are wanted. Maciol said “a lot of work” goes into researching and choosing the 10 most wanted. He noted that their position on the list is not based on severity, the number positions are arbitrary.

Fugitive No. 5, Adrian D. Liggins, 22, of Utica, was taken into custody on an open warrant Thursday morning, authorities said. Liggins was wanted since June 2020 on a charge of second-degree possession of a weapon. Deputies said he was found in a residence in Main Street in Whitesboro and was taken into custody. Liggins is scheduled to appear in County Court.

Most Wanted:

1. Michael J. Torres, age 20, is wanted on charges of strangulation and second-degree possession of a weapon.

2. Joseph A. Styles, age 31, is wanted on a charge of third-degree possession of a controlled substance.

3. Trevor McDonald, age 65, is wanted on a charge of second-degree assault. According to Utica Police, McDonald stabbed his brother in the back with a knife in Utica on July 14, 2020.

4. Wyzetta T. Henderson, age 36, is wanted on a charge of second-degree robbery.

6. McKensley O. Sanders, age 34, is wanted on a charge of menacing a police officer.

7. Sarah J. Vaugh, age 38, is wanted on a charge of second-degree assault. According to Rome Police, Vaughn struck a neighbor with a set of bolt cutters during an argument in Rome on Feb. 12, 2020.

8. Richard S. Bryant, age 43, is wanted on a charge of third-degree possession of a controlled substance.

9. Marino A. Medina, age 47, is wanted on a charge of second-degree assault. Medina was part of the 2018 and 2019 Most Wanted lists. Authorities said Medina, of Utica, is wanted for an attack in 2016.

10. Craig A. Jackson, 36, is wanted on a charge of third-degree possession of a controlled substance.
