Middleburg couple jailed on multiple child-porn charges; thousands of inappropriate images found

2/20/2021

A man and woman are both behind bars on $1.15 million bail each after an investigation uncovered thousands of images of child pornography on cellphones, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

Krystalyn Amanda Keck and David Edward Koch, both 32 of Antelope Street in Middleburg, were arrested Tuesday on 11 counts each of possession of photos of sexual performances by a child, and one of transmission of pornography via any medium, Duval County jail records show.

According to Koch’s arrest warrant, police got nine tips from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children regarding email addresses used to upload 50 child-pornography images Jan. 10 to April 4 of last year. The email addresses were traced to Keck and Koch.

Both suspects’ cellphones were seized and delivered to the Internet Crimes Against Children for forensic examination. The search uncovered pictures of Koch and Keck, some showing them performing sexual acts together, the warrant said. Several conversations or messages were found between them discussing sexual encounters with each other.

“The chats generally progressed to the sharing of media files and in some cases led to the discussion of what types of sexual acts they felt would be appropriate to perform with an actual prepubescent child,” the warrant said. “One conversation was located where it appeared that the participants discussed a past sexual interaction with a child.”

The investigation ultimately uncovered 5,650 files containing child sexual-abuse material, the warrant said.

“The agent usually approached them through schools by pretending to search for young models. Such access allowed him to target children, forge ties with their parents and eventually abuse them at his office outside Bangkok. When the child told his parents, they’d think ‘Oh! This came through the teachers. This is already screened,’ and trust him.”

DSI’s director-general, Korrawat Panprapakorn, was quoted by the Bangkok Post as saying that “the amount of evidence convinced investigators the agency must have been behind the abuse of thousands of children.”

According to the newspaper, Mr Sangkaew has been charged with “importing pornographic images into a computer system and sexually abusing minors.”

Former KMOX radio personality Hamm pleads guilty to child porn charges

CLAYTON — Harry Hamm, a former longtime KMOX-AM radio broadcaster and entertainment editor, pleaded guilty Wednesday to federal child pornography charges.

Hamm, 79, of Chesterfield, admitted that FBI investigators found child porn on his two iPhones and his personal laptop in 2018. Assistant U.S. Attorney Robert Livergood said during Wednesday’s hearing that they also found evidence that he had searched for child porn on his work iPad and laptop and viewed child porn on the iPad.

He pleaded guilty to two counts of possession of child porn and one count of access with intent to view child porn. His sentencing, which was set to occur immediately after his plea, was delayed roughly two months after U.S. District Judge Stephen R. Clark balked at allowing lawyers to file sealed memos regarding the sentence Hamm should receive.

Hamm started his broadcasting career with KMOX in 1975 with entertainment reviews on a program hosted by Jack Carney. He was a regular on “Total Information AM Weekend Edition” and covered theater openings and movies. He was dismissed after his arrest.

Hamm was a founding member of the St. Louis Theater Circle, a local art critics organization, and helped found St. Louis Children’s Hospital’s development board.

Still pending in St. Louis County Circuit Court are felony charges of second-degree statutory sodomy, incest and possession of child pornography. He’s accused there of having “deviate sexual intercourse” with a child under 17 and having child porn on his phone. Hamm has pleaded not guilty.

6 adults, 2 children rescued in Missouri during joint human trafficking operation

Eight victims of human trafficking, including a two-year-old and an infant, were rescued in Missouri this month during a joint operation with 16 state and local agencies including the FBI, U.S. Marshals, and the Attorney General’s Office.

Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt announced the joint operation’s success saying it sends a clear message to human traffickers in Missouri.

Late in the evening of Feb. 5, the coalition of state and local agencies completed the human trafficking operation at two St. Joseph, Missouri truck stops.

“This operation was successful because of cooperation between my Office, the St. Joseph Police Department, the state highway patrol, the Buchanan County Sheriff’s Office, and 13 other agencies and departments,” Schmitt said.

In addition to the arrests that were made, six adults and two children were rescued. The victims were offered victim services, including food, lodging, onsite medical services, counseling/therapy and drug rehabilitation, a news release said.

“Last night, my Office’s Anti-Human Trafficking Task Force, in coordination with multiple law enforcement agencies, conducted a successful human trafficking operation at two truck stops in St. Joseph, resulting in 6 victims and 2 children being rescued and 3 arrests,” said Attorney General Schmitt.

Of the agencies involved in the operation was the Missouri Department of Corrections (DOC).

The DOC said two of its staff members were “instrumental” in the takedown.

District 20 Administrator Tena Riley and Missouri Information Analysis Center Investigator Katie Folsom are part of the Attorney General’s Office Human Trafficking Task Force, which consists of law enforcement and victim service providers from around the state working together to combat human trafficking, rescue victims and make Missouri communities safer, a news release said.

Working with representatives from other agencies, Riley and Folsom contributed intelligence expertise to the task force and also performed communications roles in the St. Joseph operation.

“The task force is amazing; they’re just so dedicated. I’m super thankful to be involved,” Riley says. “Human trafficking is an all-encompassing problem. If we all work together, we’re going to make a dynamic change.”

The investigation into the human trafficking incident in St. Joseph is ongoing and as such, a news release said, further details about the operation cannot be released at this time.
